How would you describe your coaching philosophy and approach to player development?

I think it’s my responsibility as a coach to help each player realize they are capable of more than they thought was possible.

What do you believe is the most important thing young players should learn from the game?

The importance of consistently showing up with their best energy, effort and enthusiasm for themselves and those who depend on them.

What excites you most about coaching in FC Ellicott City?

I’ve been involved with many soccer organizations as a player, parent and coach over the past 40+ years. The focus on supporting players — and the families of players — who want to become better players and people is just different here. I look forward every day to being on the field with those players.

What do you hope players take away from their experience playing for your team?

I hope each of my players make a life-long friend, create amazing memories they remember for the rest of their lives and develop a love of the game they share with others. If they give back to the game by becoming a soccer coach one day, that would be the cherry on top.
