Rob Ryerson is one of the most respected and influential soccer leaders in Howard County, bringing more than 35 years of experience as a player, coach, and mentor at youth, high

school, collegiate, and professional levels.


As Managing Club Director of FC Ellicott City, Rob leads with a player‑first philosophy that blends competitive excellence, personal growth, and community values. His vision is to provide clear development pathways for every player, from recreational to travel to elite, college‑bound athletes. All while maintaining a strong family‑centered culture rooted in Howard County.


A standout high school player at Oakland Mills High School, Rob’s success continued at the collegiate level and professional level where he excelled while experiencing the pathway required for players to succeed in all levels of youth soccer. His playing career extended into professional ranks, shaping a lifelong commitment to player development, leadership, and the game itself.


Following his playing career, Rob transitioned into coaching, where he made a significant impact at the high school, college and professional levels. As a high school and college

coach, he has guided and mentored countless student‑athletes through the recruitment process, helping players and families navigate college selection, academic fit, and long‑term success. His experience placing players into collegiate programs has become a defining strength of his leadership.


Rob’s leadership extends beyond the field. He is widely recognized for building programs, mentoring coaches, fostering community partnerships, and creating environments where players thrive both as athletes and people.
